Leave it to Gucci to present something entirely unique and refreshing after weeks of collections full of florals, pastels, and bright spring prints. The Italian fashion powerhouse went flapper at the Milan Fashion Week show, showcasing Art Deco graphics and true luxury in golds and emeralds. Creative director Frida Gianna chose strong lines, marrying both menswear and a very strongly feminine sensuality: dresses and jackets for the cool girl. The presentation was dramatically lit– very much like an old black and white mystery film with all the guns, money, and sex. In a bed of fluffy spring florals, the Gucci collection stands out like a priceless, sculpted piece of fine art from an early American age.
